A laundry hamper is useful, but it does not have to occupy a prominent place in the bathroom or closet. Purpose-built storage can conceal it inside cabinetry, use space on a door or separate laundry as you put it away. The right arrangement combines a tidier room with an easier journey to the washer.
In this guide, we explore different approaches, from an inexpensive hanging bag to pull-out baskets, tilt-out fronts and systems with several containers. We explain their movement, limitations and installation needs so you can choose for your space and budget.
IDEA 01
A hanging bag: free the floor without rebuilding
Moving laundry onto a vertical surface is a straightforward way to clear the floor. A hanging bag can sit behind a room door or inside a closet when the loaded bag has sufficient clearance.
The KEEPJOY example on Amazon measures approximately 20 × 30 inches. It includes over-door hooks and adhesive hooks; a lower zipper allows the contents to be emptied without removing garments individually. The gray version was listed at $11.69 when checked.
Check the door thickness and clearance above it against the supplied hooks. A flat empty bag becomes much deeper when full, so test the loaded position and whether the door still closes. Treat adhesive fixing as a separate mounting option with its own surface and load requirements.
This is a useful starting point in a rental or small room. Similar bags are sold by other brands; compare loading, emptying and fixing arrangements.

A basket on slides: access from above
Slides bring a basket out from behind an ordinary cabinet door, making its opening easier to reach. This can use an existing lower compartment without leaving a freestanding hamper in the room.
Rev-A-Shelf HRV-1520 S CR is a wire-basket example listed by Home Depot with full-extension ball-bearing slides and a capacity described as 1.7 bushels. The listed price when checked was $188.99. Confirm the contents of the selected package, including any liner shown in the photograph.
Establish the opening sequence. A basket behind a hinged door may require opening the door and then pulling the basket. A front attached to a compatible mechanism moves with the basket instead. Do not assume a door-mounting kit is included or suitable for every model.
Measure the clear opening past hinges, the complete travel and the space for the person using it. Similar pull-outs are available elsewhere; compare the whole installation rather than basket dimensions alone.
IDEA 03
A tilt-out front: convenient everyday loading
A tilt-out front tips towards you, exposing the hamper behind it. It can make dropping in clothes convenient while keeping a consistent run of cabinet fronts. Daily loading and removal of a full bag are separate questions, however.

Check that the full bag can pass through the opening and that there is room to grip and lift it. The front needs clear tipping space and the specified hinges, supports and movement restraint. A bag fixed to an ordinary door does not automatically form a complete tilt-out mechanism.
Compare other suppliers by the exact included parts. A removable liner is not necessarily machine washable; follow its care instructions.
IDEA 04
Removable bags in a frame: sort where you change
Two containers let you separate laundry as it is put away, whether by washing group or by user. Choose divisions that reflect your routine rather than adding compartments simply because they are available.
TAG Curate Laundry Organizer is a frame-and-insert example with removable internal liners. Single and dual hamper configurations vary by size. Carrying a liner to the washer avoids transferring everything into another basket.
The manufacturer specifies a Suspend Frame and Laundry Basket Insert as required components. Front treatment affects the further parts required: a full drawer front needs the appropriate support brackets. Ask for a complete configuration, including its fixing and front requirements.
This is a more involved, design-focused installation than a hanging bag. Compare the complete supplied and installed cost. Two smaller bags may be easier to carry than one large load, particularly between floors. Similar arrangements exist from other hardware suppliers.
IDEA 05
Rigid containers: several jobs in one pull-out
Rigid containers retain their shape when removed and can be useful when you want a basket that stands on the floor. A multi-container system can keep laundry and supporting small items in separate places.
Hailo Laundry Carrier 600, model 3270611, is specified for nominal 60 cm base cabinets. It has two 33-liter containers and smaller 12-liter and 2.5-liter containers. Its advertised total is not the capacity of one large laundry basket.
The system mounts to cabinet sides and has dampened self-closing slides with synchronized over-travel. Its stated depth is 528 mm and height 545 mm; the width range depends on the specified sidewall thickness. Check actual internal dimensions and the complete drawing rather than cabinet width alone.
Confirm local supply for the exact model. Similar multi-bin systems differ in capacity, basket arrangement and installation requirements.
Before you choose
Check the full opening path, how the full container comes out, the loaded carrying weight and access for cleaning. A wire basket alone does not ventilate an otherwise tightly enclosed cabinet. Let damp towels dry before storing them with other laundry.
Compare complete sets: basket, liner, frame, slides and front-mounting hardware may be separate purchases. Concealing a hamper frees visible floor space but uses cabinet space. Choose a location that makes putting laundry away and taking it to the washer straightforward.
